Sara and Michael Beames started Beames Designs in 1990 in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York.Sara was exposed to working with glass while completing her BA in Art History at San Francisco State University.During that time she was also involved in a study program of art in Mexico and was an intern at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Sara and Michael Beames started Beames Designs! in 1990 in the beautiful Hudson Valley of New York.Sara is the driving force behind the glass design.Working with her hands always came naturally to her.At the age of 11 she was studying pottery in the local studio; by 17, she was a potter's apprentice.Sara was exposed to working with glass while completing her BA in Art History at San Francisco State University.During that time she was also involved in a study program of art in Mexico and was an intern at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.After graduating, she worked for both a non-profit arts organization as well as a commercial art gallery, and went on to work in Advertising and Graphic Design.All the while, her interest and love for all aspects of glass design only got stronger.
