[Kennesaw, Ga.] Invista Surfaces, a segment of Invista Performance Surfaces and Materials (PS&M) and maker of Stainmaster and Antron carpet fibers, has introduced Melissa Minihan to its marketing team.

Melissa Minihan joins Invista as vice president of marketing, Invista Surfaces, for its Stainmaster and Antron brands. In this role, Minihan will lead customer insight, promotions and brand strategies that create value for our customers, and which build upon the equity in the 25 year strong Stainmaster brand and over 40 year strong Antron brand.
Minihan comes to Invista with experience in channel marketing, shopper marketing, brand marketing, digital marketing and strategic planning. Most recently, she was director of channel marketing at Newell Rubbermaid, where she developed deep market, shopper and channel insights to build brand equity and increase revenue at the point-of-sale with innovative shopper solutions across multiple distribution channels and multiple brands. Prior to that, Minihan was a senior manager at The Home Depot in Atlanta, where she was responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies for product, brand and promotional initiatives for a decorative lighting and plumbing private label brand (designed in-house) and over 80 national brands. "We continue to invest in people, assets, marketing, planning, R&D and other resources that are required to accelerate our pace of innovation and which create value for our customers. Bringing Melissa onto our team is an example of our seeking best knowledge, which is one of the Market Based Management (MBM) principles that guides the decisions we make," said Steve Griffith, chief marketing officer of Invista Surfaces.
"We're confident that the knowledge and experience Melissa brings to the marketing team and to our customers will add a tremendous amount of value to the offerings we bring to the markets we serve."

"Pet owners love their pets, but our consumer research shows they want tidier pet-friendly living spaces," said Melissa Minihan, Stainmaster vice president of marketing.

Invista research showed that pet owners want stain resistant and easy-to-clean carpet, and easy removal of pet accidents and pet odors when cleaning their carpet and quick and easy pet hair removal, according to Minihan. "The Stainmaster PetProtect system can serve as a solution for today's households that consider pets to be part of the family."
Along with stains and odors, pet hair is even easier to remove from Stainmaster PetProtect carpet, according to Invista's laboratory testing. "This means more pet hair in your vacuum and reduced pet hair on your clothes, something almost every pet owner will appreciate," added Minihan.
The launch will start in Stainmaster Flooring Centers and Showcase dealers as well as other retailers and will be in Lowes after some lead-time for aligned dealers, Minihan noted.
