The 2015 competition will be held Saturday, April 18th at the Malco Theatre - Tupelo Commons in Tupelo, MS. We are proud to welcome competing filmmakers Rebecca Koehler from Cleveland, MS; Isabell Kinder from Grenada, MS; Sierre Anton from Diamondhead, MS; Alec Martin from Madison, MS; the ACCS Team from Natchez, MS; Preston Booth from Stakville, MS; Laura Lee Hicks from Steens, MS and Christian Bean from Tupelo, MS. All films submitted will screen on Saturday, April 18th at the Malco Theatre and will be judged by Don Tingle, Huntsville, AL; Max Shores - Tuscaloosa, AL and Philip Gentile - Hattiesburg, MS. Admission is $5.00 - make plans to attend and support our competing filmmakers!

Max Shores - University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa, AL - Max Shores grew up in northwest Alabama and came to the University of Alabama to study radio. He ended up working for the University as a public TV producer/director. His documentaries on Alabama history and southern culture topics have been broadcast on Alabama Public Television and nationwide on PBS stations as well as being featured at film festivals around the world. He recently directed a series for Mississippi Public Broadcasting and is currently developing a music series for Alabama Public Television.

Max Shores
Max Shores is a thirty-year veteran of TV and documentary film production. His work has been featured on Alabama Public Television, Mississippi Public Broadcasting, PBS stations nationwide, and the University of Alabama's TV stations, WVUA and WUOA.

Shores is a Winfield, Alabama native and a graduate of the University of Alabama. He is a product of the University's College of Communication and Information Sciences and has been training students in documentary production both in the field and as adjunct faculty in the Telecommunication & Film Department since receiving a Masters degree in 1984.
Through his research for The Amazing Story of Kudzu, Shores is considered one of the world's leading scholars on the kudzu vine.
