Max McAllister, owner of Traxxion Dynamics Motorcycle Suspension Services, is in the process of transitioning his operations to use only American-made products, machinery and goods whenever possible. Staff/Todd Hull slideshow WOODSTOCK - Max McAllister wants to start a trend.
McAllister, president and owner of Traxxion Dynamics Motorcycle Suspension Services, is in the process of transitioning his operations to use only American-made products, machinery and goods whenever possible.
What he has dubbed the "Kernel of Hope" project, McAllister said he wants to demonstrate that a small business "can succeed by using products and services from other American services."
"We intend to do this in spite of federal and state governments that have created a tax and regulatory environment that continuously does everything possible to make it impossible to succeed in the United States," he said.
McAllister is partnering with California-based Haas Automation, Marietta-based Stonhard, a polymer floor, lining and wall manufacturing company and Creative Solar USA to make his dream happen.
Haas will provide the new machinery, while Stonhard will install new anti-slip glossy flooring for the company's machine center.
The company also plans to power its factory with an 80-kilowatt solar field, which will offset the company's energy consumption by 90 percent and provide a fixed energy cost for the next 15 years.
North Carolina-based Jeffries Manufacturing Solutions, McAllister added, will provide technical and sales support for Haas Automation's machinery.
The project, McAllister said, is expected to cost $1.5 million. The machinery is slated to cost $1.1 million and the solar panels are estimated to cost $400,000.
He's entered into an agreement with Intech Funding, which will provide him financing for the project.
...
Farmer said McAllister has been a reliable customer.
...
"We're very happy to be aligned with Max and the folks at Traxxion," he added.
McAllister said the new machinery needed for the conversion will be purchased from Haas Automation.
...
McAllister said the idea for his project came when he realized he could reach out and touch so many items around him that are not made in America. Further, with a high unemployment rate, it seems important to him that "we bring manufacturing back to America and we buy from each other."
McAllister said he's proud to make the investment in his company in order to communicate his message on how important it is to support and buy American companies and American-made goods.
He also said his fellow citizens should be worried about how American jobs are being shipped out "to the lowest bidder" overseas.
"There's only so much of America we can outsource to the world," he said. Copyright 2011 The Marietta Daily Journal. All rights reserved. Share This Article | similar stories

Max McAllister, President

Max has been in the motorcycle industry since 1983. Since that time he has been involved in many forms of motorsport racing, winning National Championships in both AMA Arenacross and WERA Roadracing. He also built and fielded his own dirt track stock car team for two seasons. Through these various racing efforts, Max acquired the skills that would eventually lead him to found Traxxion Dynamics.
In the past, Max has been a columnist for Roadracing World and Motorcycle Technology, the "bible" for motorcycle roadracing enthusiasts. Demand for his products and skills have taken him to the highest levels of motorsport all over the world.
Since our company was founded in February of 1998, he has worked constantly to provide consumers with the highest level of performance available through the creation of new products and his passion to innovate. His vision is the driving force that changed the way racers go supersport racing by creating the world's first complete bolt-in Supersport Legal fork cartridge kit, the "AK-20 Axxion Cartridge", and he topped that feat with the world's first Supersport Legal gas-charged cartridge, the "AK-Gas".
Max started riding bicycles in 2012, and by 2013 was fully hooked into the cycling lifestyle... and started racing, of couse... and now has a formidable collection of bicycles for all types of duty!
...
Brian came to work for us in 2013, after Max badgered him for many years to give up the "flat-rate mechanic's life" and become part of our team.
