Dr. Maureen Fehrs, D.V.M.
has been involved with horses since childhood and has had experience with their use in numerous equine activities including jumping, polo, showing, endurance competitions, competitive trail, and breeding.
Her love of equines lead her to attaining her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell, a Masters Degree in Animal Nutrition from Michigan State University, and her Doctrate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia, graduating with honors.
She has over 20 years of experience in equine practice encompassing the gamut from reproduction, racetrack work, show stock, to backyard and pleasure horses.
has worked with hundreds of stables in formulating rations and designing exercise schedules for both competition and injury recovery.
is currently highly involved in judging endurance and competitive trail competitions.
has judged numerous events in New York, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan, including the National Competitive Trail Competition three times.
is a sought after speaker for presentations on nutrition, conditioning, and preventive medicine.
also teaches at clinics to introduce and prepare new comers to the sports of Endurance Riding and Competitive Trail.
is extremely interested in exercise physiology and maintaining the health of equine athletes in many disciplines, attending continuing education seminars regularly concerning these areas of study as well as all aspects of equine medicine.
has published several papers on animal nutrition.
still finds time to enjoy her
own horses and the study of natural horsemanship.
