Oakville, Ontario: Maureen Callahan, Sheridan's Vice-President, Academic, was presented with the Leadership Excellence Award today by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC), at its annual conference held in Moncton, New Brunswick.Ms. Callahan has been at Sheridan since 2001, and has also held leadership roles at Seneca College and George Brown College.
The award recognizes her
lasting impact on each of these institutions, and on the Ontario college system as a whole.Ms. Callahan
is the third Sheridan recipient of the prestigious ACCC Leadership Excellence Award.
Since joining Sheridan, Ms. Callahan
has launched far-reaching initiatives which are changing the very nature of the institution.Under her
is well on the way to becoming a ,learning college,, where success is measured on the quality of learning experienced by students.
...Ms. Callahan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Michigan, and her Master of Arts at Central Michigan University.She began her career in the Ontario college system thirty years ago, as a Teaching Master at Seneca College.
