In response to inquiries from people who know him, I asked my grandson Matthew Pinkston to write down a few comments concerning his four years as a Junior Ambassador for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In his eighth-grade year, he was one of 14 students from around the world chosen from an essay contest. Here are his remarks:"One of the key verses in my life is the 'Living Bible' version of Romans 5:2 '…we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be.' God has used my position as a Junior Ambassador for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) to help fulfill this verse in my life."The AIAA has taken us on field trips that show us many different aspects of flight. My first trip with the AIAA included a black-tie dinner with John Glenn in Washington, D. C. At this time, he told us, 'Whatever you are willing to work for, you can make happen in your life.'"On another trip, I stayed several days with a couple of sophomores at the Air Force Academy in Colorado.
