Matthew Eccles
Matthew is the Founder and Principal of The Grout Eccles Partnership. Early experience with Nat West, Clerical Medical and integrated agency Rex Stewart gave Matthew a firm grounding in a range of disciplines.
Following stints at Chapter One and DMP, Matthew was working on the launch of his own agency when WWAV Rapp Collins approached him. During the (third) course of a lunch with John Watson and Chris Albert, WWAV Rapp Collins West was born.  The fledgling agency had a stroke of luck when two of its founding clients, Which? and MBNA, invited them to work on pioneering digital projects.
On the back of this experience, Matthew took up the role of WWAV RC Group Development Director and drove service development across the group companies.  He then had key roles running WWAV Rapp Collins Digital, WWAV Rapp Collins Media Group, and Zalpha (the group’s planning consultancy).
In 2005 Matthew was promoted to Rapp Collins Chief Strategy Officer, Europe and built capability and service offerings across the European agency network. He also led the planning on blue chip clients such as Sony Europe, Provident International and Capital One. In 2007 Matthew went independent, consulting with a number of clients who were looking to enhance their approach to 1-2-1 marketing.
In his spare time, Matthew is a rugby nut (who stills turns out for Old Bristolions despite being distinctly the wrong side of 40) and a massive music fan. He is as happy listening to Rage Against The Machine as he is Muddy Waters or Handel.
