will be taking up a post in the UK as Director of Sports
...Last but not least, as far as the Secondary is concerned, is Matt Lane, our Head of PE and latterly Deputy Head (a post he took over on a temporary basis in September and thankfully kept on until the end of the year!).
Matt's quiet, calm measured approach to school issues has been a major strength of the Secondary
is respected by teachers and students alike, even though he
manages to persuade people to do things they don't always want to do.Reluctant students end up running races they never thought they could run, and staff find themselves taking teams away on weekends to compete as far away as Nairobi.Matt
himself is no stranger to competitive sport, even at his
age.Just recently he
has been seen proudly wearing the Tanzanian colours whilst playing hooker in the national rugby team! His
home country now beckons him after four years at Braeburn
is taking on a very responsible position as Sports
Co-ordinator for about 20 schools in southern England. If he
can raise the profile of sport there as he
has done here then his
new employers will be very pleased.Thank you Matt
, for everything you have done for Braeburn
, in sport, in management and in setting an example for others to follow.Matt
will be accompanied by his daughter Ella, and his wife Jess, who taught in our Primary School for the last four years.
We would like to thank Jess for this assistance and for supporting Matt
and enabling him to do his
job so well.
