Matt Kagan will begin his second season as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Worcester State College. Kagan enjoyed great success in his first season leading the Lancers to the NCAA tournament for the second straight season and earning MASCAC Coach of the Year honors. Kagan is a 2003 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University where he was a forward on team that went to the NCAA Division II championship game in 2002 and finished the season ranked #2 in the nation. Kagan was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team as he scored the game-winning goal in the quarterfinals and both goals in a, 2-1, semifinal victory. Most recently, Kagan has been the 1st assistant for Assumption College women's soccer team and has been a head coach for numerous youth teams for the Seacoast United Soccer Club (NH)
The SUSC U-17 boys team will be coached by Matt Kagan and Mike Kulas.Matt and Mike are no strangers to SUSC working with SUSC teams in the past.Matt currently coaches with the SUSC U-14 boys and is the Assumption College Women's Assistant Coach.Last year he worked with the SUSC U-11 premier and U-16 girls Seacoast teams.Matt is currently earning his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.Mike is another former player from Southern NH University and together Matt and Mike will be working hard to continue the good work done by former coach Kenny Hayner.

Assistant Coach Matt Kagan joins the Hurricanes as part of first season head coach Tom Anagnost's new staff. Kagan joins `Canes after serving as the assistant coach for the University of Evansville women's program the last three seasons. Known for his recruiting, Kagan brought Canadian National Team member Vanessa Legault-Cordisco to the Purple Aces in 2010 - the first national team player to sign with the program. In 2008, Kagan and the Evansville coaches were named the Missouri Valley Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Aces to a 13-5-2 record - including a perfect 9-0 home slate - and conference regular season and tournament titles. The 2008 NCAA Tournament squad was led by the MVC Player of the Year Kayla Lambert. Prior to Evansville, Kagan directed Worcester State to three consecutive Division III NCAA Tournament appearances as head coach, and an overall record of 45-15-3 from 2005 through 2007. In 2007, he led the Lancers to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 and a final national ranking of No. 21 in the NSCAA poll. While at Worcester, Kagan helped develop 19 all-conference players, including a 2007 D3Kicks.com All-American. He was also chosen as the 2005 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Coach of the Year. Kagan is a 2003 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University where his team advanced the NCAA Tournament Championship Game and was named to the Final Four All-Tournament team in 2002. He spent one season as assistant coach at Assumption College before taking over the Worcester State program in 2005.
