Using the funeral as an example of Buddhist ritual, Reverend Masao Kodani, a minister of the Jodo Shinshu or "Pureland" sect of Buddhism, will explain the Buddhist funeral, and the significance of the ritual to the Buddhist religion.
will present an overview of the historical development of rituals in Buddhist practice, and the relevance of such rituals to day-to-day life in both a cultural as well as a religious context.
