Mary McCauley Trooper Mary McCauley has been employed with the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) for the past twelve years.Prior to her employment with the MSP, Trooper McCauley worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.She has served in a variety of assignments within the Department, including the field division, special operations, and the detective units of the Suffolk and Middlesex District Attorneys Offices.She
has conducted hundred of investigations involving homicides, computer-related crimes, white-collar schemes and narcotics offenses. In addition to her current assignment as a detective in the Special Investigation Unit at the Middlesex DA's Office, Mary also serves in a collateral capacity as one of three Ombudsman for the MSP.
The Office of the Ombudsman is a confidential conflict-resolution program that was initiated within the department in 2000.Mary is also currently assigned to the Special Operations Unit of the MSP as a trained crisis negotiator and has been involved in a number of incidents involving hostages and barricaded subjects. She
is the dedicated mother of several and also a proud member of the Irish American Police Officers Association

...Together Trooper McCauley and Officer Besold are the founders and currently share the office of president of the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement which currently represents almost two-hundred active members from forty-one different law enforcement agencies within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
