Meet Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini
Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini, of Ocean Township, was sworn in on January 8, 2008 to represent the 11th Legislative District.
Assemblywoman Angelini sits on the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee and the Assembly Human Services Committee.
She currently serves as Deputy Conference Leader in the Assembly Republican Caucus.
Since 1992, Assemblywoman Angelini has been the executive director of Prevention First, which provides educational programs and services to schools, businesses, and community organizations to counter the negative effects of substance abuse, violence and bullying.

Prior to being appointed executive director of Prevention First, she served as a program development specialist with Monmouth County's Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, where she coordinated Monmouth County's local coalitions to prevent substance abuse.
During her tenure in the Legislature, Assemblywoman Angelini has sponsored legislation to improve the lives of residents in Monmouth County and New Jersey and to make life more affordable.
has crafted legislation to save taxpayers money through shared services agreements, improve the conditions at state psychiatric hospitals, and to address underage drinking and drug abuse.
was the prime sponsor of the "Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights," and the "911" or "Lifeline" legislation, which establishes a "safe haven" from prosecution for minors who summon medical assistance for intoxicated underage persons.
In addition, she
has fought for strict ethics reform and stronger regulations for child care centers.
Assemblywoman Angelini has received numerous awards for her efforts, including the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce Public Service Award, the New Jersey Small Business Development Centers Advocate Award and the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce Public Official Award.

Assemblywoman Angelini earned a Bachelor of Social Welfare from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
She is a Certified Prevention Specialist.
