The panel was composed of: Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon; Gramiccioni; Victor Almeida, a doctor of osteopathic medicine and the director of the emergency department at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch; Mary Pat Angelini, chief executive officer of Preferred Behavioral Health Group; and Ninette Tuerk, a licensed clinical social worker and licensed certified alcohol and drug counselor and certified clinical supervisor.
Angelini talked about the drug prevention side of the epidemic. Angelini said that over the years there has not been a consistent policy in terms of drug prevention. Angelini emphasized that parents must educate their children about drugs and the negative impact drug can have on their lives.
