Local product Marvin Graves joins the Cards as quarterbacks coach
WASHINGTON- The Catholic University
of America football squad announced two additions to the coaching staff Tuesday.
Former Syracuse University quarterback Marvin Graves
will coach the QB's and Kevin Barger will lead the defensive line and special teams.
will be a great resource for our passers and play a big role in the offensive scheme since we throw the ball so often.
will bring years of experience to the quarterback position.
The local product and graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School attended Syracuse University where he was a record-setting quarterback for the Orange.
started all four seasons after red shirting his
freshman year and was a three-time bowl game MVP.
As a senior, he
ranked second in the nation in passing efficiency, was the Davey O'Brien Award (national quarterback of the year) runner-up and a Heisman Trophy candidate.
After graduating with his degree in child and family studies, Graves was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
played eight seasons in the CFL
before returning to Washington, D.C., to coach at a number of area high schools and run quarterback clinics.
