distinctive fusion of liveaction and animation was inspired by his
time on the Film/Fine Art course at St. Martins School of Art
and the twin magnets of cinema and painting have driven his
work ever since.
Through Channel4 and Arts Council supported short films and music videos he
developed a raw metamorphorphic charcoal animation style in opposition to the dominant disney studio style.
With bigger commercial budgets he
has blended liveaction and cgi into the fluid tracking shots and rich textures in high profile award winning campaigns for clients such as Budweiser
and the BBC sport.
has crossed over into directing liveaction performance and narrative with the angle of being able to enhance photographed reality with expressionistic animation and image manipulation.
Liveaction short films ("Plaza" "Green") for Channel 4 and Film Four have enabled him to experiment further with these techniques and more extreme subject matter which in turn fuels commercial work.
has completed work as animation director on the documentary feature "Age of Stupid" and directed the short film "London" for Film London and the London Development Agency
This short is to promote London 2012 and was premiered at the Beijing Olympics.
is has recently completed the feature film "Ultramarines:the movie"
