Wichita State University senior Marty Spence said posing in Playboy was among her life's ambitions.
She's known she's wanted to model since she was 14 or 15, she said, when she stumbled across her grandfather's stash of 1970s and 1980s Playboys.
She told her classmates at Rose Hill High School that it would happen. They just laughed, Spence said.
Spence, a 24-year-old intern at Gold Media Group, a local marketing company, fulfilled her promise when Playboy's annual College Girls special edition magazine hit the stacks late last week.
In a four-page spread, she poses on workout equipment, sometimes wearing only pink-and-green Nike shoes. The words "Wichita State" can be seen in the background.
The scene, she said, was one of three the company shot of her.The other two -- where she poses like a schoolgirl and in all white next to a pool -- could run in later issues.
"I don't want it to be the end of Playboy," said Spence, who would not say how much the magazine paid her for the photos.
Spence said the buzz on campus hasn't been too bad. She's heard some people say things like, "Hey, that's her."
