Swarbrick's 27 years as a business leader began in Ireland as a manufacturing engineer for General Electric where, over a seven-year period, he progressed to manufacturing manager.
He spent the next seven years with Verbatim (Kodak) as Operations Manager.In 1991, he became operations director for Motorola's Land Mobile Products Sector and shortly after became vice president and general manager with responsibility for manufacturing operations and distribution for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Swarbrick was born in Cork, Ireland.He was educated at Trinity University and holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and a Masters in Mathematics/Computer Science.He studied manufacturing and operations at IMEDE in Lausanne, Switzerland, and completed the Leadership Institute at Northwestern Universityâ€s Kellogg School of Management in 2001.
