FOH engineer Martin Hildred about D-Two & M3000
...
Martin Hildred was FOH on the tour, and having worked with bands such as Lamb and Basement Jaxx was used to a slightly "oddball" street sound on his desk! Martin wanted some really mad delays for the dubbier sections of the set, and some really classy reverb for the main vocals.
Martin explains: "I took an M3000 and a D-Two out in my rack, and they were just fantastic! The D-Two is so quick to work with, really simple to operate and the sound is just what the doctor ordered. In some sections I wanted dubby delay stabs, and all I had to do was push up the feedback and ride the fader and the sound was just there."
Apparently, the TC units in his rack gathered a lot of attention from local crew as he toured the States. It seems that the D-Two is quickly becoming the standard live delay unit. Martin used the M3000 in Dual engine mode, allowing him a main vocal reverb, and a secondary reverb for drums and various other sounds.
It's a brief break for Martin in January, and then it's back on the road with Erasure in February and March for a UK and European tour.
