Dr. D'souza is a Professor and Director of the Mercer Clinical Laboratory and Co-Director of the Center for Drug Delivery Research, and works on vaccines, oral and transdermal drug delivery, nanotechnology, biodegradable polymers, arthritis, septic shock, AIDS and organ transplantation.
Dr. D'Souza's research work focuses on evaluating the microencapsulation of drugs to form nanospheres and microspheres thereby achieving sustained release of the drug with the aid of biodegradable polymers.
