was getting back into the sport after a seven-year break.Not even her
"I didn't have any expectations at all," said MacLennan
, 36, of Chatham."I just set myself a goal and wanted to go out and accomplish it."She
returned to the stage with a pair of top-three finishes at the International Drug Free Athletics' Toronto Classic last month.
That was just a warm-up for her
next challenge, the Canadian Natural Nationals and Ms. Fitness Canada championships last weekend in Toronto.
The Chatham-Kent police constable won the figure division and then strutted off in her
five-inch heels with the overall trophy, Ms. Natural Canada 2008.

"That was a big shock," MacLennan
stopped competing in 2001 but stayed in great shape.She's an instructor at GoodLife Fitness and always scores top marks on the Chatham- Kent Police Service fitness tests.

has always competed clean, but she
couldn't be sure about the other women back in the 1990s.However, both events this summer were drug-free.
"It was a breath of fresh air, in that I knew what I was competing against," she
said."We were all on the same playing field."Her
schedule is now empty, but she
isn't ruling out more competitions.
"I don't think I'm going to let it drop for seven years like I did," she
