Mark Singleton, Chorus Director Mark Singleton has been described by his teacher and mentor Dr. Peter Bagley as an "exceptional talent. Known for his compelling musicianship and leadership, Mark has become one of New England's most sought-after conductors. In addition to serving as the Chorus Director of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus, Mark serves as the Director of Music at Immanuel Congregational Church, and Artistic Director of Voce. Mark holds an undergraduate degree in Cello Performance and Church Music from William Jewell College and a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Connecticut. He has pursued additional conducting studies at the Robert Shaw Festival, the Dennis Keene Choral Festival and the Conductors Institute of South Carolina. Mark has served as guest clinician, teacher and conductor for festivals and workshops throughout the United States, China, Europe and Africa. He has prepared choruses and served as guest conductor for many orchestras including the National Symphony of China, the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Liberty Symphony Orchestra, Arcadiana Symphony Orchestra and the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra.

The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus (ECSC), a subsidiary of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, is comprised of approximately 80 auditioned singers from Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island, and range in age from high school students to octogenarians! Under the direction of Chorus Director Mark Singleton, the ensemble presents classical works by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn and many other major composers, as well as works by contemporary composers such as John Rutter and Morten Lauridsen.
