Mark Rolfing NBC Sports golf analyst and host of the longstanding Golf Hawaii show on the Golf Channel produced and evolved the golf travel show concept to feature golf destinations, golf personalities and events from around the world.
Mark Rolfing, host of Global Golf Adventure, also serves as both an on-course and tower analyst for NBC/Golf Channel tournament broadcasts. Currently in his 26th year on TV, Rolfing provides commentary and insight on NBC/Golf Channel's live coverage of golf's biggest events. In addition, Rolfing is a frequent part of Golf Channel's highly acclaimed studio shows, along with being the creator/host of an original golf adventure series that is now in its 18th season.
Rolfing began his broadcast career in 1986 at ESPN before moving to NBC in 1988. Except for a stint at ABC in the mid 90's, NBC has been his home ever since. "Mark is an experienced course reporter who has developed a great relationship with the players over the years" said Tom Roy, Coordinating Producer for NBC Sports.
Through the years, Rolfing has received numerous awards and accolades for his commentary. Golf World's John Hawkins named Rolfing to his list of top television announcers, "He hustles, gets good information, and isn't afraid to voice an opinion.
USA Today has called Rolfing "TV Sports best on-course reporter."
Over the past three decades, Rolfing has emerged as one of the leading forces in event marketing and production in the state of Hawaii. In 1985, he created Rolfing Sports, which has produced a variety of major events from golf to college basketball. Rolfing is also a member of the Hawaii Golf Hall of Fame.
In 1985, Rolfing developed the idea for a golf and travel series that debuted on ESPN.

Kapalua's Mark ..., 6 Jan 2012 [cached]
Kapalua's Mark Rolfing, a golf analyst and Hawaii's most prominent voice in the game, calls it a "disturbing trend. "I don't see any scenario, if that (the scheduling) continues, where the Europeans are coming here in January ever. Maybe one or two but not in general," said Rolfing, who compares the relentless worldwide schedule to tennis 20 years ago.
To help this tournament -- and next week's Sony -- get through the scheduling storm, Rolfing believes the TOC's eligibility list has to be expanded. He favors including the top 50 -- players who are eligible for every tournament but this one. If the tour moves to a fall start, which is being discussed, he wants this event to become the sport's "all-star game," with fan voting involved.
"The first players in the all-star game are guys who win tournaments," Rolfing said.

"There was a lot of upheaval here in the last year," said Mark Rolfing, an NBC Sports golf analyst and Maui resident who has taken an active role in the tournament at Kapalua.
Rolfing has long advocated changes to the structure of the event.
And with that, Rolfing got Tournament of Champions back in the name of the event, which dates to 1953.
"I wanted some changes to occur here to re-energize the event," Rolfing said.
To that end, Rolfing decided to make the risky move of not charging spectators admission this week.
The more difficult task centers on the players, Rolfing said.
It was a must play," Rolfing said. "Of course, the world of golf has changed."
Rolfing said that FedEx will have a bigger presence as part of the kickoff to the FedEx Cup schedule and that he wants to "try to celebrate the beginning of the season."
Rolfing said he is open to any and all ideas, although his host organization is contracted only for this year at this point.
