Ardmore softball coach Marc Peters had a little piece of inspiration for his team this season.
, also an assistant on the boys golf team, passed around his
2010 state championship ring.
It might be lofty to say the Tigers are state championship contenders just a year removed from 1-16, but it doesn't mean the goal doesn't exist.
"The goal for the summer was to learn softball and have fun," Peters
"We've got good senior leadership this year; they wanna go out on a winning record," Peters
said both provided great improvement to the junior high program this summer.
The biggest area Peters has seen progress, besides the varsity's hitting, is in the younger group.

In addition to an already challenging regular season schedule which includes two games each against Lone Grove and 5A state tournament qualifier Duncan, the Tigers will play in the Perry, Durant and Plainview tournaments.
With only seven wins in the last two seasons, Ardmore
is looking to get back to prominence.
That's why Peters
broke out the ring.
"The girls feed off of that," Peters
said of showing them the ring.
