Keynote: Mark Moon
Dr. Mark Moon is Avercast's special guest speaker who will be presenting his marketing and forecasting expert advice in this year's customer conference. Mark has extensive experience guiding companies toward successful supply chain management. He has consulted numerous companies on supply chain topics including sales forecasting re-engineering projects and supply chain strategy. He has also delivered custom executive education programs to various businesses, covering subjects that include marketing strategy, sales forecasting, demand planning, and Sales and Operation Planning. Prior to joining the University of Tennessee faculty in 1993, Mark earned a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds MBA and B.A. degrees that he received from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He currently teaches demand planning, forecasting, and marketing strategies at the undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA levels and has published his extensive supply chain research and experience in various academic journals and in his book, Demand and Supply Integration: The Key to World Class Demand Forecasting. Mark's professional experience also includes his previous positions in sales and marketing with IBM and Xerox as well as his service as department head of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management between January 2011 and January 2016. Beginning in the summer of 2016, he will take on the role of director of the Global Leadership Scholars Program, which is the Undergraduate Honors program housed in the Haslam College of Business. He will be responsible for overseeing this prestigious, globally focused educational experience for a community of 75 students. Mark was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has two sons, Colin and David, and two granddaughters, Ryleigh and Natalie. Away from the office, he enjoys traveling with his wife Carol, floating down the Tennessee River on his pontoon party barge, and golfing with his sons.
