...Mark Lieberman became a member of Shaw Pittman's health law group in October of 2003.Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lieberman served as Vice President and General Counsel of Albert Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia.He brings over 25 years of experience in corporate transactional and healthcare regulatory matters.In addition to acting as in house counsel for two academic medical centers, Mr. Lieberman's career has also included both private practice and government service as senior counsel with the Securities and Exchange Commission.Mr. Lieberman
brings a broad and diverse range of experience in representing healthcare providers and advising them on the Fraud and Abuse, Anti-kickback and Stark Laws, hospital /physician joint ventures, medical staff credentialing, privacy and security of medical information, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, clinical research and human subject protection, information and software system contracting, management of malpractice and other risks, anti-trust and governance issues.In addition to his health law experience, Mr. Lieberman has considerable experience in corporate matters including securities, real estate, employment and environmental issues.Mr. Lieberman is a member of, and regular speaker before, numerous healthcare organizations.He is presently Vice Chairman of the Teaching Hospitals and Academic Medical Centers Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association.He
has published numerous articles on fraud and abuse investigations, joint ventures, acquisitions, clinical research, medical privacy and other compliance matters.He
