...Mark Curtis joined Conyers Dill & Pearman in the Spring of 2003.He is an Associate in the Trust & Private Client Department. Mark, who was born in the UK, graduated in 1993 from the University of Durham with a BA Degree in Law (Class 2:1).Subsequently, in 1994, Mark was awarded a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law in York (with Commendation).Having successfully completed his legal training with the London law firm, May May & Merrimans, he qualified as a Solicitor ( England & Wales ) in 1996 (he does not currently practice in the UK).Since qualification, Mark has worked as a private client tax and trust lawyer for two London law firms, Titmuss Sainer Dechert (now Dechert) (1996-1999) and, most recently, Macfarlanes (1999-2002).He is also a member of the Bermuda Bar Association.
Mark's practice area covers all aspects of trust and estate advice for international high-net -worth individuals and associated financial institutions, trustees and beneficiaries; and in particular corporate transactions involving trusts. Mark
has written articles for various publications (including The Financial Times
, The Times and International Private Banker) on the subject of trusts generally and in respect of international initiatives relating to trusts, information exchange and fiscal crime .
