He commenced specialty obstetrics and gynaecology training in 1987 at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, after which he obtained his PhD for research into pelvic adhesions working between the Universities of Sydney and Sheffield (UK).

in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists
(RANZCOG) in 1993.
He is presently the Vice President of the Fertility Society of Australia and the immediate past Chairman of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Committee for RANZCOG and sits on the International Advisory Board of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
maintains a busy private practice as well as regularly teaching medical and postgraduate students and presenting papers at national and international conferences.
