Bids received were: Elliott Sanitation Equipment Company
$191,744; ABM Equipment & Supply, Inc.
$197,580 and Covington Sales & Service, inc.
stated all bids included a trade-in allowance and recommended the low bid.
added the City
would like to finance the purchase of this machine and received quotes finding the best terms through First State Bank
for a five-year loan at 3.74%.
Public Works Director Mark Bohl stated the Cities of Gering and Scottsbluff had joint ownership in two sewer jets and is presenting an agreement which relinquishes the joint ownership, giving full title to the 1996 Freightliner Tandem sewer jet to the City of Gering and full title to the 1986 Ford sewer jet given to the City of Scottsbluff.
stated the 1986 sewer jet has been considered in trade for the new one Council just approved for purchase.
Public Works Director Mark Bohl presented the bids received for one new three wheel mechanical sweeper.
Bids received were: EDM Equipment Co.
$98,350 and $95,500; Rose Equipment Co.
$85,520 and $107,520; and Ameri-Tech - no bid.
stated Rose Equipment
offered the low bid for a rear dump sweeper which does not allow the City
to dump debris directly onto the dump trucks.
The unit bid by EDM
is a front dump sweeper which does allow the direct dump onto a truck to be hauled away immediately as opposed to being stockpiled and later loaded onto a truck to be hauled away.
has parts for the EDM equipment
and feels the convenience and cost saved by not having to reload debris justifies the difference between the low bid and the EDM
