Marie McAnally Searcy, age 75, of Red Bay, passed away Friday, August 23, 2002, at Morningside of Sheffield.
Mrs. Searcy was retired as a school teacher after 30 years of service.She began her teaching career in Okolona, Mississippi, but spent the majority of her career in the Red Bay School system, where she taught every grade through the 8th grade.She spent the most years teaching the 4th grade.Mrs. Searcy was a graduate of Mississippi State University.She was a member of Red Bay First Baptist Church and also a member of the Alabama Teachers' Association.

Mrs. Searcy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ellis Searcy; a daughter, Bonnie Heisler and husband Jay, of Atlanta; a son, Joe Searcy and wife Tammy, of Cherokee; two grandchildren, John and Jenna Heisler, both of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.

RED BAY, Ala. - Marie McAnally Searcy, 75, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at Morningside of Sheffield in Sheffield, Ala.She was a retired school teacher after 30 years of service.She began her teaching career in Okolona, Miss., but spent the majority of her career in the Red Bay school system where she taught every grade through the 8th grade.She taught the most years in the 4th grade.She was a graduate of Mississippi State University and a member of Alabama Teachers Association.She was a member of the Red Bay First Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Red Bay First Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl McAnally, the Rev. Larry Hill and Mr. Jerry McAnally officiating.Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery.Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, and until service time Sunday at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at Red Bay First Baptist Church, with burial in Allen Cemetery.
