The Governor appointed Marie Moretti
as executive director and David Muraki will continue to serve as deputy director of the Service Corps.
...Attached is the full text of Executive Order S-14-04 and below is biographical information regarding California Service Corps Executive Director Marie Moretti. Marie Moretti Marie Moretti was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to serve as the executive director of the Governor's Office of Service and Volunteerism in March of 2004.Prior to this appointment she served as deputy appointments secretary with a portfolio focused on health and human services.
During the Davis Administration Moretti served as business liaison to the Governor, working with the California
business community on a variety of public policy issues. Previously she was executive vice president of the public affairs firm, Goddard Claussen/Porter Novelli and prior to that she was vice president and director of client services for the public relations firm, Stoorza Ziegaus Metzger & Hunt.Moretti
was the founding director of the Edmund G. "Pat" Brown Institute of Public Affairs, a non-profit public policy organization; she
also served in the administration of Governor Jerry Brown. Moretti serves as a commissioner of the California Horse Racing Board; a member of the Advisory Board of the Pat Brown Institute of Public Affairs at California State University Los Angeles; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bob Moretti Memorial Scholarship Foundation.She is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Business Executive Program and Pitzer College in Claremont, California.
