Marianne McCollum, PhD, BCPS
CHSU Campus Interview: Dr. McCollum earned her doctorate in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and began her academic career as an assistant professor at the University of Colorado. She was promoted to associate professor and awarded tenure in 2008. At Regis, Dr. McCollum led efforts to create an assessment program around team-based learning pedagogy. She provided oversight of the self-study report preparation for five on-site visits from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) between 2009 and 2015. Nationally, her academic service activities with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy include membership on the Council of Deans Task Force on Collaborations with State Pharmacy Associations, chair of the Council of Sections Task Force on Accreditation Best Practices, and current membership on the AACP Standing Committee on Academic Affairs. She also served as the Regis University School of Pharmacy Interim Dean for two years from 2010 to 2012.

Assistant Professor - School of Pharmacy University of Colorado Denver Marianne McCollum, PhD, RPh, BCPS, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Pharmacy, University of Colorado Denver. Dr. McCollum received her BS Pharm in 1989 from the University of Colorado, and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research with emphasis in Pharmacoeconomics in 1999, also from the University of Colorado. She received a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in 1998 from the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education in support of her graduate studies. Prior to her graduate work, Dr. McCollum practiced pharmacy for 10 years at the Denver VA Medical Center, serving as manager of the inpatient pharmacy for five years. In 2000, Dr. McCollum joined the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy, where she teaches health economics in the Doctor of Pharmacy program and Director of Graduate Studies in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research. Dr. McCollum is a member of Phi Lambda Sigma and the Rho Chi Society; she became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist in 1995, and was re-certified in 2002. Her current research focuses on clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes for patients with diabetes. Dr. McCollum received the ACCP Health Outcomes Investigator Development Research Award in 2004, and the ACCP Career Development Research Award in 2005 in support of her research investigating associations between diabetes and comorbid depression.
