"Grosse Ile has an opportunity to set the tone of the community. If there is a common goal, there is no doubt that it can happen here," she said. "I have received calls from individuals who are concerned and I feel I have hundreds of eyes and ears out there making sure our kids are safe. That is unique in a community these days." Malone also said that she tells her own children "parenting is the hardest job you will ever have, for it is constant vigilance." Parenting is staying involved in the lives of your children, no matter what age, Malone stated.
