Marian Brown Associate Director, ARTZ and Member, Hearthstone Research Division Marian Brown describes herself as an educator, visual artist, and inclusion practices advocate. She received her Master's in Education, in Arts in Education, from Harvard University in 2012. As Associate Director, Marian oversees Foundation contacts to funding agencies, organizes educational conferences, manages media relations, and supports ARTZ intervention programs. As a member of the Hearthstone Research team, Marian organizes data collection efforts on clinical trials. As an artist, Marian is currently exploring identity, specifically the fluid nature of family and the roots with which we ground. She articulates these relationships in a body of work created from handmade paper, all of which is made from clothing donated by her family. Her work has been exhibited in Boston and New York.

Marian Brown Joins ARTZ as Associate Director

We are delighted to announce that Marian Brown has joined our team as Associate Director. Ms. Brown is an arts educator and professional studio artist. She graduated from Harvard's Graduate School of Education (HGSE) this May with a degree in Arts in Education. Prior to coming to HGSE and Boston, she completed artist residencies at The Colorado Center for Handmade Paper and The Genesee Center for Arts and Education. Marian's work is currently showing at Harvard's Gutman Library and will also be showing at VSA Massachusetts Open Door Gallery later this summer. As a passionate arts-educator and inclusive practices advocate, Marian describes ARTZ as a "natural fit". Given the great alignment in vision, and the commitment to quality arts experiences, we have no doubt that she will be a great asset to our team.
