Dr. E. Maria Donner received her Ph.D. in Genetics, with a second major in Pharmacology, from the University of Helsinki, Finland. The research for her thesis work on the molecular genetics of eye lens crystallins was conducted as a Visiting Fellow at the NIH, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).

Since 1999 Dr. Donner has been at the DuPont Haskell Global Centers for Health & Environmental Sciences (HGC) in Delaware, where she is responsible for discovery and regulatory genetic toxicology. Dr. Donner is also actively engaged in questions regarding the 3Rs (Replacement, Refinement, and Reduction). Dr. Donner has served on the organizing committees for several workshops and symposia, including the ECETOC sponsored nanotoxicology symposium (Nanotoxicology: Mechanisms and Effects) and forum (Rationale of Genotoxicity testing of Nanomaterials) at the 10th ICEM in Florence, 2009. She is the guest editor for the proceedings that will appear in Nanotoxicology (2010). She is on the ILSI/HESI organizing committee for the workshop Genotoxicity of Nanomaterials: Refining Strategies and Tests for Hazard Identification that will be held in connection with the EMS 2010 Annual Meeting. Dr. Donner is a former Board Member and Membership Chair of both the GEMS and GTA.

Dr. E. Maria Donner is a Senior Research Toxicologist at DuPont Haskell Global Centers for Health & Environmental Sciences (HGC) in Newark, Delaware. Dr. Donner is currently representing the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) on several OECD Expert Groups, tasked with the review and development of OECD test guidelines on genotoxicity.

Dr. E. Maria Donner is a Senior Research Toxicologist at DuPont Haskell Global Centers for Health & Environmental Sciences in Newark, Delaware, USA. She received her Ph.D. in Genetics, with a second major in Pharmacology, from the University of Helsinki, Finland, with research conducted as a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), RTP, NC. After completing her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology (CIIT, now the Hamner Institutes) she was appointed as Director of Genetic Toxicology at Integrated Laboratory Systems, Durham, NC, until she joined DuPont in 1999. Dr. Donner is a subject matter expert in nano(geno)toxicology, with insights in research and regulatory testing aspects. She has organized and participated in several nanotoxicology workshops and symposia over the years. Dr. Donner is also representing the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) on OECD Expert Groups for review and development of the OECD test guidelines on genotoxicity. She is a longstanding member of GTA.
