Maria graduated top of her class earning a degree in Fashion Marketing from The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1999, where her love of all things fashion and the fast-paced world of PR were fueled by several internships including Philadelphia Style Magazine, Strawbridge's and Neiman Marcus. During this time Maria was also actively involved as a junior member of The Fashion Group International, INC.
After graduation, Maria began work as the Assistant to the Director of Special Events and Public Relations at Strawbridge's before pursuing a career as a freelance public relations professional. She quickly found her niche in Philadelphia, gaining a reputation as go-to girl for nightclub promotions and publicity.
During this time, she honed her skills in special events management and planning spearheading fashion show productions, product launches, restaurant and nightclub openings as well as revitalizing established venues. Maria successfully executed countless grassroots marketing campaigns gaining media exposure for an array of clients.
Soon thereafter, Maria accepted a position at Hugo Boss, Fashion Works Incorporated as the PR and Marketing Manager overseeing seven locations in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania where she concentrated on the fashion industry.
Prior to founding The Hip Event, Maria served as the Public Relations Manager for Neiman Marcus in Short Hills for more than four years. Under her direction, the store engaged in countless non-profit, community and charitable organizations such as The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, North Jersey Affiliate and The New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
Maria has worked with key editors and producers in top level media and was features on "Extra" on two different occasions for her expertise in beauty, fashion, and jewelry, as well as her keen sense of style.
