Following a retirement move to Santa Fe, New Mexico, Marge McCarthy was introduced to the labyrinth at a 1998 retreat led by Lauren Artress in Sedona, AZ.

...
In 1999, Marge founded the Labyrinth Resource Group in Santa Fe and was president for eleven years. This group has created approximately thirty labyrinths in the Santa Fe area and has sponsored labyrinth walks and educational programs throughout the community. Her husband, Bob, has also been very active in the group and is now focusing on constructing and maintaining labyrinths in the city.
Over the years, Marge’s connection to Veriditas has deepened in many capacities within the organization. She served six years on the Veriditas Board and began working in 2004 with both the Veriditas Council and the Labyrinth Journal. She is a Certified Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator, a Regional Representative and she has facilitated many times for the pilgrimages to Chartres Cathedral. As a retired School Psychologist, it was natural for Marge to want to bring the labyrinth to children. Fourteen elementary schools in Santa Fe have built labyrinths and been taught how to use them for calming down, dealing with grief, problem solving, celebration, conflict resolution and just having a good time thanks to Marge.
...
Marge was awarded the “2003 Annual Governor’s Award for Outstanding New Mexico Women by the New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women in recognition for her labyrinth work in schools.
Marge’s passion for and dedication to the labyrinth recently came full circle during the happy celebration of her 80th birthday. Marge, Bob and family walked the Camino de Santiago de Compostela Pilgrimage in Spain and then joined the Chartres Pilgrimage group for a memorable labyrinth walk in Chartres Cathedral, Chartres France. Unquestionably, Marge’s love for the labyrinth and her vision for children have enriched the Santa Fe community and Veriditas with the greening power of the labyrinth.
