NEWPORT - Margaret Lauric Salitrik,
89, of Newport, RI, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA (Lawrenceville), died peacefully at St. Clare Home on Sunday, April 25, 2010.
was the wife of the late Joseph F. Lauric and the late Stephen Salitrik.
was the daughter of the late Frank and Magdalena (Vrtar) Bobnar.
Margaret attended St. Mary Assumption Grade School in Lawrenceville and Bellefield Girls Vocational School in Oakland and graduated in 1939 as Valedictorian.
During WWII Margaret worked at the H.J. Heinz Company
assembling gliders for the military.
also worked as a seamstress with her
husband Joseph who was a tailor for Brooks Brothers
In 1965 Margaret attended Alvernia School of Practical Nursing and worked for the VA Hospital in Aspinwall until she retired in 1984.
Margaret was a member of the KSKJ Slovenian Fraternal Association and the Duquesne University Pink Geranium Club.
She also was a President of the Christian Mothers of St. Mary Assumption Parish.
