Long time Clerk-Treasurer Margaret Drewniak
has announced that she
will not seek re-election in the May Primary Election.Mrs. Drewniak, who began her public service career in 1970, is beginning her 37 year serving the citizens of Whiting.

."I've enjoyed every aspect of my job, but it's time to retire to spend more time with my husband, children and grandchildren.I will certainly miss my co-workers, employees, and residents."Drewniak began her career serving in various capacities in City Hall and was promoted to Deputy Clerk under then Clerk-Treasurer Mary Jancek.

.She is responsible for computerizing the once manual operation of the office, and was the first Clerk-Treasurer of the City of Whiting to obtain the Indiana Accredited Municipal Clerk (IAMC) and the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designations.
