Murrindindi Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Margaret Abbey said tenders have recently been called for the design of the interpretative elements to be used in the Centre.
"The aim of the tender is to establish the type, scale and technical requirements for the displays and interactive features that deliver the interpretative story, within the budget available for the construction and ongoing operation of the Centre," said Ms Abbey
"This work will support the ongoing financial viability of the project and provide clear direction to the architects appointed to design the building on the building's space, layout and fit out requirements.
"Once a preliminary building design is prepared it will be placed on display for community input," Ms Abbey
"Consistent with Council's recent services review, the aim of the Council and all project partners has been to minimise the need for significant Council resources to run the Centre and we continue to review the progress of the project to ensure this outcome is achieved, said Ms Abbey
