"With the Definiti system, it's more like flying through space than watching a show," said Marcus Weddle, Sky-Skan's director of marketing.
"You can go to Saturn and fly through the rings, or visit the moons of Jupiter, all with the push of a button."
Weddle said teams from his company worked at the Hayden Planetarium over a year, installing a 10.2 channel surround sound system (compare this to the 5.1 surround sound found in most theaters), LED cove lighting, and the company's DigitalSky software.
The upgrades extend and improve upon the relationship the company has had with the museum.
"We have had SPICE Automation in the planetarium and the Mugar Omni Theater for decades," said Weddle
"When you watch a program like this on a TV or in an IMAX theater, you are watching it on a wall," said Weddle
