Marcelo Garrido Navarrete, our new resident trainer, comes from a traditional Chilean horse family where he grew up learning natural horsemanship.His talent and love for horses was expanded through extensive training with world renowed trainers after moving to Europe to study for his British Horse Society instructional degree.He spent a year receiving dressage and jumping instruction with Nicholas Smith in Belgium and Alex Von Silfout, Grand Prix Dressage trainer, in Holland.Marcelo spent three years in Wales as a barn manager and trainer, later moving to the US as a trainer and instructor for three years at Pepperdine University in California.He served as combined training instructor for beginners through preliminary level at the Colorado Horse Park before moving to Maryland.Marcelo and Salomon shown below on the right, qualified in 2004 and 2005 for the US Eventing Championships.They are now preparing for FEI Two Star 3-Day Events.Marcelo is available for horse training and lessons.Come see what he has done with our horses.He had one of ours jumping within two weeks, a horse all previous trainers said couldn't jump.
