After all, his assignment was to repossess the Lexus sedan belonging to Bishop Marc Neal, minister at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church on East Wilbeth Avenue.
Falzini said the job quickly turned ugly, however, when Neal got inside his Lexus and hit the gas pedal, tossing Falzini onto the hood and racing away with the repo man holding on. A month after the incident, Neal has been charged with felonious assault, kidnapping and abduction. He spent a night in the Summit County Jail before posting bond Friday. Neal, 48, appeared before Municipal Judge Jerry Larson and pleaded not guilty. Neal declined comment when reached at his Fairlawn home Friday. VanHo said Neal was unaware of the pending repossession and that the action is likely the result of an accounting issue. Instead, Falzini said, Neal returned to the church parking lot, where two Akron police cruisers; Neal's wife, Kelly; and some children were waiting outside. Police questioned Neal and Falzini separately. ''Mr. Neal said he feared for his safety, so he drove away,'' the officer wrote. Rev.
