In light of this, Bishop McCormack has accepted the recommendation of the Priest Personnel Board to appoint Fr. Marc Gagne as pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Dover and the Chapel of the Nativity mission in Barrington and pastor of Saint Charles Parish in Dover, effective Wednesday, April 23, 2008.Fr. Gagne is currently pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua.
When Bishop McCormack deems it appropriate to proceed with the merger of the parishes in Dover, he
intends to appoint Father Gagne
as pastor of the merged parish.Father Cerullo and Father Gagne
will meet with Bishop McCormack once Father Gagne
is settled in his new assignment to determine an appropriate timeline for the parish merger.
Once the merger occurs, Fr. Gagne
will form one parish finance and one pastoral council, including representatives from each of the former parishes and the mission. He
will work with the new parish pastoral and finance councils to study the use of all facilities in the merged parish to determine how each facility can best contribute to the mission of the newly erected parish.Fr. Gagne
and the parish pastoral and finance councils will then propose to Bishop McCormack what the use or disposition of all properties will be for the merged parish.
Fr. Damien Ledoux looks foward to working with Fr. Gagne
during the transition process.
