M. Franklin Dolwick, DMD, PhD
Dr. Dolwick is a world-renowned Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of temporomandibular disorders.
He was a pioneer in the development of TMJ arthrography and surgical procedures for the treatment of TMJ internal derangement.
Dr. Dolwick has served on several TMJ study committees for the American Dental Association, National Institutes for Dental Research and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
has published over 60 papers and co-authored four books.
Dr. Dolwick received his DMD from the University of Kentucky and his PhD and certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia.
He currently serves as Chairman and Professor for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
Prior to being the Chairman, he served as the Director of Residency Education and Associate Chairman of the department.
He also serves as a member of the Craniofacial Cleft-Palate Team with the College of Dentistry.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is a member of the appropriate professional organizations.
In 1993, he
received the Research Recognition Award from the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation
research on temporomandibular disorders.
