This can be done by clicking on the link "Edit Profile" under "Utilities" on the Board Menu (located in the left-hand frame of your browser while on Luther Quest). Luther Quest Webmaster (Lqwebmaster) The primary focus of Luther Quest should be rather obvious from the title. The board is about Lutheranism. To borrow from our Home Page, "If you want to talk about the Bible, Luther, the Lutheran Confessions, Walther, Lutheranism, then this is the discussion group for you." The focus of Luther Quest has been, and will remain, "Lutheran theology, doctrine, and practice from a conservative and confessional point of view." If Luther were alive today, he'd use the Internet. Luther Quest Webmaster (Lqwebmaster) A number of the new participants to Luther Quest have joined us from the AAL Conversation Corner. As I stated last week, people are welcome to join in on our discussions under the guidelines of this site. Unfortunately, there are a few individuals who had an unfortunate exchange on Conversation Corner which required AAL's Webmaster to delete a few threads and edit some others. I've been in contact with the AAL Webmaster to discuss the issue and how it affects Luther Quest. I have perused the AAL Conversation Corner to see some things for myself. I cannot and will not penalize someone for their activity on another board. That's outside of my scope of responsibility. But if any similar activity occurs on Luther Quest, it will be dealt with within the scope of our guidelines. Those who have strong issues with each other are to take such matters off of Luther Quest. This is a public forum for the discussion of theology. A breakdown in civil discussion benefits nobody. We make note in the guidelines of our restriction on posting material that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, without the property owner's permission. We also restrict the posting of a message in more than one discussion. As part of common discussion group courtesy and etiquette, it is considered a bad practice to reproduce items across boards. I.e., cut & paste postings or sections of postings from Luther Quest onto another board, or vice versa. While I cannot monitor or prevent what gets posted elsewhere, it is strongly discouraged. If you wish someone in another discussion forum to read something you find on Luther Quest, simply point them our way. You will see next to each message on Luther Quest a small envelope symbol with a paperclip. Luther Quest Webmaster (Lqwebmaster) Posted on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 - 3:35 am: Edit Post Delete Post Print Post The purpose of Luther Quest is to discuss theology. However, there have been some postings on Luther Quest of late that have contained unnecessary personal attacks and generalizations. I.e., arguments from frustration.

"Luther Quest" Accused Of Unionism For "Calling" Rolf Preus "Chaplain"

"Luther Quest" Accused Of Unionism For "Calling" Rolf Preus "Chaplain"
Luther Quest has 87,500 messages on its 315 megabytes of archived discussions with approximately 3/4 million hits. A "megabyte" is over a million characters or about 125,000 words. Luther Quest is estimated to be the largest website in Lutheranism, not operated by a Lutheran Church Body. Luther Quest owner, Rev. Jack Cascione, intends that www.Lutherquest.org be a place where Lutheran laypeople and clergy can interact, question, learn, dialogue, debate, criticize, compare, satirize, poke fun at, and present their own views. Preus is the only clergyman who has been asked to post devotional writing on Luther Quest. Luther Quest is the sole property of Jack M. Cascione and is not sponsored by any church body or congregation. It is my conviction that brother Preus' acceptance of the office of and functioning as the official ("our") chaplain of Luther Quest is in breach of: As the owner of Luther Quest, I strenuously object to any inference that Luther Quest is a "church" or that Rev. Preus is exercising a "form" or "function" of the pastoral office on Luther Quest. As the owner of Luther Quest, I strenuously object to any inference that Luther Quest is a "church" or that Rev. Preus is exercising a "form" or "function" of the pastoral office on Luther Quest. It's Luther Quest at its best. Pastor Russow is determined to prevent a fellow pastor from posting the Word of God on Luther Quest. Russow claims that Preus' involvement in Luther Quest is public, therefore his objections are not a violation of the Matthew 18. His position on Matthew 18 carries a lot of weight for me. In the Large Catechism Luther says if the sin is public it is not a matter of Matthew 18 or the Eighth Commandment. However, the onus on Russow is to prove that Preus is indeed guilty of sin on Luther Quest.
