Luther Goins
Season of Concern is thrilled to welcome Luther Goins to the Board of Directors. Mr. Goins bring years of experience as a playwright, producer, theatre instructor, and union representative. Currently working as one of six Central Region Actors' Equity Association Business Representatives, Luther re-located to Chicago in 1990 after working extensively in Cincinnati as a producer, director, and an acting instructor. From 1995 to 2002, he held the Managing Director position for the Chicago Theatre Company (a professional, African-American company) located on Chicago's south side. From 1992 to 1995, he worked as the Assistant to the Producer at the now Skokie-based Northlight Theatre; and held the position of Resident Artistic Director at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Theatre in Evanston, IL. Mr. Goins joined the Central Region office of Actors' Equity Association in 2002. Luther, a two-time cancer survivor, is happily married to Leon Schrauben, a Chicago Public Schools Teacher.

LUTHER GOINS (Managing Director)Mr. Goins' worked as Assistant to the Producer at the Evanston-based Northlight Theatre from 1992 to 1995.From 1990 through 1995, Luther held the position of Resident Artistic Director at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Theatre (also in Evanston.) Before returning to Chicago in 1990, he worked extensively in Cincinnati, holding the positions: Director and instructor at The School for Creative and Performing Arts; Managing Director at the Studio Theatre; and Chairman of the Cincinnati Theatre Festival.Mr. Goins has directed over 50 productions including August Wilson's Fences and George C. Wolfe's The Colored Museum at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.Luther is currently working on "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning" (his second play).The Chicago Theatre Company's Board of Directorsis responsible for fiscal and administrative oversight of the organization.The Board is comprised of community members representing education, government, the arts and business.
