This year's Asheboro Copperheads has that group of seasoned players and one player especially that is having a great individual season is Luke Tendler
second season in Asheboro, the rising senior from North Carolina A&T
has proved himself as one of the top hitters in the CPL
currently sits near the top of the league with a .324 batting average and is second in the CPL
with five homers on the year.
"I feel like I'm really starting to mature at the plate," Tendler
said of his
success at the plate this summer.
"I go up to the plate looking for fastballs and looking to put them on the barrel of the bat."
Because of his
productivity swinging the bat this summer, Tendler
was selected as both as an All-Star and being chosen to compete in the CPL
The right fielder came in second out of 12 competitors, trailing just Edenton's Adam Kirsch on Sunday night in the Challenge as he
had 14 home runs in the competition.
Tendler's great season for the Copperheads is merely a carry-over from his
campaign for the Aggies where he
earned third-team Louisville Slugger All-American honors selected by Collegiate Baseball.
Playing shortstop for NC A&T, he batted .369 and was fourth in the nation with 25 doubles to help him earn first-team All-MEAC.

Ever since the age of five when his
dad first introduced him to the game of baseball, Tendler
has found it to be his

standards, but because of the atmosphere and the team around him, he
decided to return.
"I loved it here (Asheboro) my first season," he
