Joining The Cannons - Luke Harvey

Joining The Cannons - Luke Harvey
Hythe Town FC are delighted to confirm that striker, Luke Harvey, will be joining the club following his final game for Faversham Town this Saturday (29th). Luke, 28, is a highly-rated forward who has been top scorer for the previous two seasons at the Lilywhites.
He will be known to regular followers of the Cannons as he has had many decent performances and scored many goals against us over the years. Prior to his time in the Ryman South with Faversham he was the captain of the Kent League winning Herne Bay side that did battle with us for several years as the clubs battled for promotion.
Hythe Town 1st Team Manager, Tim Dixon said - "I am extremely pleased to announce the signing of Luke Harvey.

There was also a simple and perfectly understandable explanation behind the departure of talented striker, Luke Harvey, who many were hoping would benefit from a full pre-season to kick-start his Reachfields career. Luke and his wife are expecting their second child and Luke understandably is wary of committing to the Ryman South and in it's travelling times, in particular the midweek trips.

After finally agreeing to stop terrorising our defence whilst playing for the likes of Herne Bay and Faversham over the years, Luke ended up being a popular character during his short time with us. Hopefully he agrees with a lot of us that he has unfinished business as a Cannon.

However after eleven minutes former Hythe striker Luke Harvey pounced as Mant dropped the ball under pressure and was able to slot the ball home and give the hosts the lead.

Another effort from Cloke went just over the bar before Faversham as good as sealed the result just after the hour mark as Harvey headed in from a deep Ryan Cooper cross.

Good work from skipper, James Morrish, led to a Michael Yianni cross, Luke Harvey and Welford both picked out unmarked, the latter guilty of heading straight at keeper Milan Stojsavljevic when an equaliser seemed certain.
First, Phil Stevenson lashed home an impressive half-volley across goal from a Morrish cross, after good work from Luke Harvey.
The away side were now pushing for a crucial third, Philpott crossing for Welford to head just over and Harvey firing a dangerous low centre straight across the face of the Chipstead goal that only needed a slight touch from a player from either side to extend Hythe's lead.

With ten minutes remaining the home side finally took the lead, as substitute, Luke Harvey's overhead pass picked out Welford's run perfectly, Hythe's talisman running clear on goal and toe-poking past the advancing Ross to send the ball into the empty net.

HYTHE TOWN boss Tim Dixon has unveiled the signing of former Faversham Town striker Luke Harvey.
Harvey was a late substitute in Faversham Town's 2-2 home draw against Folkestone Invicta at the weekend, but is now a Hythe Town player.
"I am extremely pleased to announce the signing of Luke Harvey," Dixon told
Dixon added: "Luke has been top scorer for the past two seasons at Faversham and we will give him every opportunity to continue that form at Hythe.
Harvey opted not to make his Hythe Town debut against his former club Herne Bay on Saturday, which Herne Bay won 2-1, courtesy of two goals from Stuart King, which takes his goalscoring tally up to 22 goals for the season.
Harvey will be included in the squad which travels to Sittingbourne this coming Saturday.
Harvey said: "To be honest it's been a long two weeks decided what club was best for me next! - Home [cached]
