Luis J. de Ocejo Executive Vice President Luis J. de Ocejo joined State Street as executive vice president and head of Human Resources in September 2001.
In this role, Mr. de Ocejo
is responsible for developing long-term human resources strategies, policies and programs that are aligned with State Street's
strategic plan and business goals.He is also a member of State Street's Strategy Steering Committee and Executive Operating Group.Since joining the organization, Mr. de Ocejo and his senior team have clarified the human resource function's mission, renamed the group Human Resources & Organizational Performance and tailored the structure, staff and financial resources to better support State Street's strategic initiatives.Prior to joining State Street, Mr. de Ocejo has held numerous human resources leadership positions in his 30-year career.Most recently, he served as senior vice president for Human Resources and Corporate Affairs for The Pillsbury Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In this role, he
had worldwide leadership for Pillsbury's human resources, public and community relations, government affairs, legal services and business administration services for eight years.Mr. de Ocejo
played a key role as Pillsbury
grew from a $2 billion company operating only in the U.S. to a $7 billion company with operations in over 40 countries.From 1989-1992, he served as director of personnel development for Grand Metropolitan plc in London, where he was responsible for all aspects of human resources development for all business units.Mr. de Ocejo received his B.A. degree from Assumption College in 1973.In addition, he has also been actively involved in many community organizations, including the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce and the National Epilepsy Center in the United Kingdom, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Greater Hartford Open.Mr. de Ocejo is currently a trustee of The Children's Museum, Boston.
