...After his residency Dr. Ramirez became the Associate Chief of Psychiatry at the Cleveland VA Hospital and was instrumental in many organizational changes while he was responsible for the psychiatric units at the Brecksville Division of the hospital.
During the 1980's Dr. Ramirez in collaboration with Dr. R. McCormick, Dr. J. Taber and A. Russo conducted important research in the area of Pathological Gambling publishing some seminal results in this area.At the same time Dr. Ramirez
was involved in Administrative Psychiatry and The Prevention and Management of Violent Behavior in Mental Institutions.In collaboration with Dr. R. McCormick he
wrote a book on Quality Assurance in Mental Health.In 1986 Dr. Ramirez
joined Dr. Herbert Meltzer at University Hospitals and with Dr. Bijan Bastani created one of the largest programs in the country for the evaluation and management of patients with schizophrenic disorders considered treatment resistant.
coined the name of "Psychobiology Evaluation and Treatment Program" for this program and was in charge of the in-patient component with Dr. Bastani running the out-patient part.
...In 1991 Dr. Ramirez became the Chief of Psychiatry at the Cleveland VA Hospital where he continued the clinical changes of this service creating a highly successful clinical, teaching and research environment after the recruitment of prominent psychiatrists.

.In 1998 Dr. Ramirez joined Otsuka America Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Clinical Director where he was in charge of the development of an anti-depressant and was involved in the development of Aripiprazole, a new antipsychotic now approved by the FDA.
relationship with Otsuka Dr. Ramirez was commuting to Cleveland from Rockville, Maryland to continue attending a small private practice with Comprenhensive Psychiatric Services.Later on in 1999 Dr. Ramirez
returned to Cleveland and joined Dr. Bijan Bastani at NorthCoast Clinical Trials Inc.
continues participating in multicenter, multinational clinical research trials.Dr. Ramirez is also a psychiatrist with Murtis H. Taylor Community Center and continues his association with Dr. Richard Friedell at Comprenhensive Psychiatric Services.
...Dr. Ramirez owns his company "Quality Outcomes Training" which conducts national and international trainings in how to use rating scales and how to coach professional on presentation skills and is the Medical Director of the Psychobiology Clinic of Greater Cleveland.
Dr. Ramirez lives in Brecksville with his
